CALVIN DAVIS

Our instructors love what they do and convey their passion for performing arts when they teach their students.

I was fortunate enough to grow up in Singapore where I experienced an education which led me to discovering my passion towards music and the world of arts/culture.

I devoted my time to teaching myself the ins and outs of drumming, exploring my creative ability throughout these past 14 years and will continue doing so.

Highlights from this time period would certainly be; when I was featured on East Coast Radio with one of the few bands I was honored to work with, leading to recording 2 successful albums.

After receiving my Rock School Grade 8, I was inspired and motivated to blend my passion with practice and start teaching. My relocation to Cape Town granted me this possibility and has given me the next goal to conquer, my Trinity Grade 8.

I have worked for prestigious Music Academy’s such as, Legacy School of Music, School of Rock, which is where I stepped up into an Assistant Music Director role. I would describe my preferred genre and style as a various combination of Metalcore, Djent, Fusion, Pop Funk and Gospel Funk.

These styles showcase and illuminate my energetic, creative and linear upbeat side

Jordan Bailiff

Our instructors love what they do and convey their passion for performing arts when they teach their students.

Born in London England, I started my training at an early age in classical ballet and contemporary dance.

Fast tracked into the Royal ballet joiner school and then studied at the Royal ballet school, Central school of ballet, London studio centre and what is now known as the Brit school.

As a professional dancer I worked and toured with Ballet Ireland, European ballet, Central ballet company, LDA in the United States, and Magic life. The experience of touring and travelling was wonderful and invaluable giving me an insight into a wider world of dance and creativity, and the craft of theatre making. I have taught A level dance as well as open classes at Frame studios in London, LDA in Boston, and various other dance and fitness centres. I have been lucky enough to work on many aspects of stage craft from behind, on, and in front of the stage.

During my life I have been fortunate enough to work with, teach and learn from some of the world’s most talented performers and creative minds. As a designer and maker, I have been able to use my making skills and knowledge of physical movement to build puppets for some notable BBC productions.

I have worked at the renowned Heatherwick studio, responsible for Zeitz Mocaa at The Waterfront in Cape Town, and several sculptural and Architectural work around the world. In addition to this I have worked on a number of international exhibitions, showing that the life of a dancer and theatre practitioner takes you in new and interesting directions if you allow it to.
